Marcus Low Regional Marketing Manager – Southeast Asia

Marcus joined William Grant & Sons (WGS) in 2012 and is head of the Marketing Services division for the region. He is in charge of developing the go-to-market strategy for the luxury spirits company’s portfolio of premium brands including the world’s favourite single malt Glenfiddich, the handcrafted range of The Balvenie single malts and Grant’s blended whisky, as well as selected other premium spirits, including Hendrick's Gin, Sailor Jerry, Tullamore Dew, Monkey Shoulder and Reyka Vodka.

As Asia's representative of the WGS Global On-Trade Leadership Team, Marcus leverages the experience and lessons from across global markets, bringing best and novel practices back to Asia so as to consistently deliver engaging and effective campaigns to audiences here.

No stranger to the spirits industry, Marcus worked with Bacardi-Martini Asia Pacific Limited for some time where he executed in-market experiential marketing campaigns including the inaugural Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition in Vietnam, which entered the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records for the longest serving bar. During this time, he was also concurrently assisting the Director, Re-Export for the day-to-day management of the re-export business.

Well-versed in the spirits industry, he regularly attends workshops and courses and has most recently achieved Whisky course certification from institutions like the Moray College, in association with Gordon & MacPhail.

Zachary Connor de Git - Regional Portfolio Ambassador

Zachary Connor de Git joined the family-owned company as Regional Portfolio Ambassador in April 2014; helming its portfolio of mixable spirits – Monkey Shoulder Triple Malt Whisky, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Hendrick’s Gin and Reyka Vodka in particular.

An Australian native and self-professed Singaporean, Zach discovered his penchant for bartending at the age of 17 behind the bars of O’dowd’s Irish Pub at Rockhampton, Australia – a bar situated near his hometown of Biloela which he characterizes as quaint and fun.

Not one who shies away from the boisterous activities of the industry, Zach takes pride in creating unique experiences for each guest he attends to, with a strong affirmation that customer service always comes first. His thirst for new challenges soon led him to move on to some of Australia’s most esteemed bars such as Black Pearl and Gingerboy in Melbourne. It was at Gingerboy that Australian Bartender Magazine gave him a nod of recognition with a nomination for “Bartender of the Year” in 2010 for his knack of concocting some truly great tasting cocktails.

Accorded with a distinction in Level 2 Award in Spirits from the acclaimed Wine & Spirit Education Trust in Singapore, Zach most recently led a team at Singapore’s famed Tippling Club as Bar Manager and Head Bartender, creating uniquely delicious cocktails while expanding his repertoire in the local bartending scene. In 2013, he represented Singapore at the Diageo World Class competition and subsequently went on to be the first bartender in Singapore to win the Mediterranean Mastery 2013 title – a subset of Diageo World Class competition that calls for competitors to consider the Mediterranean region and its influence on cocktail culture.

With an unwavering interest in hospitality and exploring unique flavour profiles, Zach credits his fellow bar mates as his own personal muses as he feeds off their creative energy and translates it into extraordinary creations behind the bar. When not busy whipping up concoctions, Zach can be found either jamming out to his guitar and drums, or busting a move as he claims to be able to shimmy better than the famed Pat Benatar (that tall lanky guy doing The Worm is probably him).

Felle Lim Regional Brand Manager – Monkey Shoulder, Milagro, Reyka Vodka

Felle joined William Grant & Sons in 2013 and is the Regional Brand Manager of some of the family-owned company’s most esoteric spirits – Reyka Vodka, Monkey Shoulder and Milagro. Tasked with launching these spirits and subsequently building brand recognition and consumer uptake in key markets in Southeast Asia, he capitalises on each of their unique and innovative brand propositions to conceptualise and implement effective strategies and campaigns.

Identifying with Monkey Shoulder’s penchant for subverting the norm and putting a creative twist on the ordinary, Felle employs a similar approach when educating consumers about each spirit in his portfolio. Take for example, the Monkey Garden – a grown up play on a local Singaporean favourite – yong tau foo, guests are given the opportunity to pick from a garden of fresh fruits and ingredients that are then fashioned into personalised cocktails. This spin on a familiar concept never fails to thrill guests and is a great first introduction to the approachability of this unique triple malt.

Just like the native Icelandic people who live life with an inventive approach, and who regularly draw inspiration from their environment, Felle is constantly on the lookout for fresh alternative ideas to implement in his next brand venture, providing opportunities for consumers to interact and learn more about each spirit through the use of experiential and one-of-a-kind activations.

When he’s not experimenting with new concepts and initiatives, Felle is also a windsurfing and poker enthusiast, hobbies he picked up while obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree at the National University of Singapore.

Lee Ying Zhi - Regional Brand Manager – Hendrick’s Gin, Sailor Jerry Spiced, Solerno

Lee Ying Zhi joined the family-owned company as the Regional Brand Manager of Hendrick’s Gin, Sailor Jerry Spiced and Solerno in 2012, and spearheads some of the quirkier and more characteristic brands in the William Grant & Sons portfolio.

With a focus on growing the presence and consumer uptake of these spirits in key markets in Southeast Asia, Zhi is constantly thinking up innovative experiential activities that not only engage but also educate the consumer about the spirit and its brand story. She is passionate about delivering authentic brand experiences whilst bringing a fresh perspective to the spirits industry and has made it her personal mission to ensure that Hendrick’s Gin takes over the world, one cucumber at a time.

Much like Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins, the father of old school tattoo and the inspiration behind Sailor Jerry Spiced, Zhi lives & breaths the ethos that “Good work speaks for itself”, something that she has proven in her time in the role, having established successful partnerships with The Butter Factory Group and key lighthouse bars like Bar Naked on Club Street and Sauce Bar at The Esplanade, and overseen the execution of unforgettable events that have guests and media eager for the next one.

Zhi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a minor in Marketing from the University of Buffalo, and is no stranger to the F&B industry, having previously led the marketing team of Peranakan Place Group, which owns Alleybar, Acid Bar and Outdoor Cafe.

Through the years, she’s discovered her passion for connecting consumers with the many faceted brand angles of the spirit industry and has never looked back since.
